17-24/07/2018 - Εκπαιδευτικό Πρόγραμμα | Call for Youth Workers (Βέλγιο)

This is a call for youth workers interested by Human Rights Activisim to participate in the 2 phase youth exchange programme "No Hate Bootcamp".

The 1st phase of the training will take place in Dworp, Belgium from the 17th of July until the 24th of Jul, while the 2nd phase will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia during the 1st week of October.

Project Description:

Higher incidences of violent extremism, hate crime & hostility towards different social groups, especially manifested through hate speech, are becoming WORRINGLY FREQUENT in our everyday lives. Moreover, the RAPIDLY-CHANGING ENVIRONMENT & massive rise of ubiquitous communication technologies have pushed internet to become a place for people to communicate & SPREAD HATE, bigotry & vitriolic language. The aim of the project is to establish & reinforce international cooperation & exchange of good practices between the youth workers & organisations. The programme is intended to help 33 social activists from 9 countries to begin developing STRATEGIES to combat hate. The participants, through leveraging the efficiency of NON-FORMAL EDUCATION around the activities fighting hate speech & discrimination, will become NO HATE SPEECH AMBASSADORS.

Selection Criteria:

The TARGET GROUP of "No Hate Bootcamp" are the youth workers with experience in the youth field, and strong interest in the hate speech. We are looking for participants who meet the following criteria:

-motivation to become a “No Hate Speech Ambassador”
-experience in international and/or local youth projects, willing to develop own local and international projects and build network
-advanced command of English language
-resident of Belgium

Each participant should also agree and commit to:

-participate in both phases of the training course (this is an absolute must)
-actively work and deliver all the prerequisites (preparation, self-assessment etc.) for the 1st phase
-complete the tasks for the intermediary phase
-implement the follow-up activities after the 2nd phase of the training course

All costs during the course of the training (incl. flight tickets, accommodation, etc.) will be covered/reimbursed.
